Self care & dealing with stress


We talk about self-care a lot. But what does it mean?

It’s been close to a year since the first case of Covid was announced in Ireland. We’ve had to learn to try and live alongside Covid. But let’s remind ourselves that these are unusual and challenging times. As we face into lockdown extensions, it’s important to incorporate self-care into our daily routine.

Linda, Jigsaw clinician runs through some ways we can look out for ourselves.

Self-care can also include:

  • Practice relaxation and controlled breathing.
  • Try to take a more balanced view. Social distancing is not forever. Remind yourself that this will pass and we will see better days.
  • Take a break from things that add to anxiety, such as the news and social media. Recognise the strengths that we have that will help us get through.
