Gaisce – The President’s Award
This academic year, 57 of our Transition Year Students are working towards achieving their Bronze Gaisce Award. Our awardees are embracing the four key challenge areas with enthusiasm.
The key areas include; Personal Skill, Physical Recreation, Community Involvement and participating in an Adventure Journey.
The Adventure Journey was held on October 17th and 18th, 2019. It included a very enjoyable overnight stay in Birr’s Outdoor Education Centre as well as two challenging hikes in the Slieve Bloom Mountains.
Awardees will be presented with their Bronze Gaisce Certificate, Pin and Medal on Transition Year Night in May.
Going forward, awardees are encouraged to take on the challenge of successfully completing the Silver Gaisce Award, which can then lead onto the Gold Gaisce Award.
