Students may choose Study Skills as their 3rd option subject in Junior Cycle. Study Skills - include two periods a week of timetabled classes, operating in first year after the sampler modules and in second and third year. Students have the choice to opt into this where they get help, mostly with core subjects for example History, Geography, Religion and Science. This has proven to be a very successful initiative with as many as three groups opting to pursue the Study Skills programme in some years.
