TY - Overview

The Transition Year Programme is optional and open to 3rd Year students to apply for in the Spring Term. Students are informed of all the Senior Cycle Options through the Guidance Related Learning Activities led by the School Guidance Counsellors. A presentation on the TY programme for 3rd Year Students is hosted by the Transition Year Coordinator after the February Mid Term Break, at which time the application forms are made available. Parents/ Guardians are invited to a presentation and Q& A on the detail of the TY Programme. Applications for the Transition Year Programme can not be accepted after the Closing Date as stated on the Application Form. Students will be requested to attend an interview as part of the application process. Co-operation with the School's Code of Positive Behaviour is a condition of participation in the Transition Year Programme.

A deposit to cover the expenses of the programme activities is payable on receipt of a place on the Transition Year Programme.

For further information, contact the Transition Year Coordinator:patriciawhite@stbrendanscsbirr.ie

At St Brendan's Community School, we refine and develop the programme year on year to meet the needs of the students and to utilise the skills and expertise of staff members. The TY Programme evolves as the students who participate grow and develop in their learning and their personalities.
