St Brendan’s vs CBS Kilkenny on the 22/11/2017


A good team wins away and that is exactly what St.Brendan’s first year hurlers did yesterday beating CBS Kilkenny 6-10 to 2-7.St.Brendan’s got off to a flying start with a point within the first minute from Andrew Coakley. Shane Connolly scored two goals before CBS opened their scoring with a point, Shane Connolly replied with two great points from play.15 mins into the first half Steven Gilligan replied to a CBS point with 1-1.St.Brendan’s finished their scoring in the first half with a point from Eoin Bourke,Steven Gilligan and a goal from Peter King.Halftime score St.Brendan’s 4-6 Kilkenny CBS 0-4.Great credit must go to the entire back line for holding CBS to 4 points in the first half,Charlie Hogan and Darragh tierney had another outstanding performance also Canice Stevenson and Patrick Bergin caught the eye.There was great communication between the goalkeeper Ben Miller and all of the team.Albie Watkins and Eoin Bourke linked the backs to forwards well throughout the hour. CBS improved in the second half scoring 2-3 to St.Brendan’s 2-4.Scorers included goals from Peter King and sub Rian Carroll.3 points from Andrew Coakley and also Eoin Bourke finishing off a well deserved win for St.Brendan’s.Congratulations to all involved.
